The people behind Biotech Associates

Three partners whose working lives span radiotherapy supply, clinical practice and financial management — and whose relationships across Bangladesh's hospitals, ministries and defence services took decades to build.

A master's graduate in Economics from Rajshahi University, S. M. Shafiquzzaman entered Bangladesh's healthcare sector in 1998 — a career now in its 28th year. His dedication to ensuring medical care for underserved cancer patients laid the foundation for everything he has built since.

He founded and continues to lead Projukti International, one of Bangladesh's established suppliers of radiotherapy and nuclear-medicine equipment. His leadership played a defining role in introducing Cobalt-60 teletherapy systems to leading cancer-treatment centres including Delta Hospital, Ahsania Mission Cancer and General Hospital, the National Cancer Institute and major medical college hospitals — where treatment continues today with Brachytherapy systems he has supplied.

Beyond oncology, he has supplied Bangladesh Army and Air Force hospitals with a Dual Head Gamma Camera, Blood Irradiator Machine, HRM Manometry systems, a Plasma Steriliser system, gastroscopy systems, hematology analysers and four units of 1000 mA X-ray machines — a defence-sector relationship demanding sustained compliance and reliability.
